BCPS Centennial Celebration
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is celebrating its 100th anniversary during the 2015/16 school year. In honor of this milestone, the Public Information Office is planning a Centennial Celebration recognizing the District’s commitment to educational excellence and our rich history of cultural diversity.
The official kickoff of the Centennial Celebration takes place during the September 1, 2015, Regular School Board Meeting. Festivities include a breakfast reception at 8 a.m. in the Pre-Function Room, followed by a special presentation with remarks from local elected officials and community members, as well as the reading of the Centennial Resolution. The kickoff will be streamed live on BECON-TV, so everyone has an opportunity to be part of the event.
In addition, throughout the school year, your school or department can get involved in the Centennial. Please make plans to:
“Centennialize” your school or department’s events and communications. Tools and resources are now available on browardschools.com/bcps100 to help you incorporate the Centennial theme into your existing school events and activities. This includes template newsletter articles, marquee messages and more. You can also download the Centennial logo to include it in your school/department communications. In addition, we have an online form that allows you to share Centennial ideas and provide feedback directly to our office. Be sure to bookmark the Centennial website and check back often, as it will be updated throughout the school year.
